Make Bootable USB Stick w/ ISO to install Windows

Download Windows *.iso

Microsoft Webpage to download *.iso

  • Download Windows 10
  • Download Windows 11

Windows *.iso from the TekTinkers file server, NOT from Microsoft

  • Download Windows 10 *.iso
  • Download Windows 11 *.iso
Download Rufus
  • Rufus Website to download (scroll down to “Download”)
Setup *.iso on USB
  • Insert USB into PC
  • Go to Downloads folder and open downloaded Rufus file (rufus-#.#.exe)
  • From the top of Rufus:
    Device: (choose your USB stick)
    Boot selection: Choose Disk or ISO image
    Click on SELECT and choose your downloaded Windows##.iso file
    (By default the rest should be ready to go, please look over to verify compliance with your needs and system)
    Click on START
  • When finished, exit Rufus and remove USB stick from PC
Install of Reinstall Windows from USB *.ISO
  • Turn PC off
  • Insert USB into PC
  • Start PC; Be ready to push the key(s), Del, F2, F10, F11, F12 to enter the BIOS or Setup
  • Go to BOOT and make the USB 1st in the boot order
  • save changed and exit
  • Be ready to push any key to start Windows Installation
  • Install Windows
